What do you do when your faith doesn’t work? What do you do when your life doesn’t make sense? We all get there. We all have those kinds of tough times. Buddy Cremeans did such a great job of bringing clarity to those seasons of life.
Keep it real and learn how to express loss. Depression is the inability to express loss in our lives. Wow! I never thought of it in those terms before. I end up keeping it inside or trying my best to ignore it. I wonder if there are some areas that I have never expressed the loss that I feel. God is big enough to handle our questions.
We also need to have an “it’s all good God” kind of attitude. Learning to trust God that he really can do anything…miracles still happen, but if he chooses not to heal, he is still good. This was really good for me to remember. God’s goodness is not determined by my wishes. Sometimes the bigger picture warrants something else.
Keeping our eyes on God has a way of helping me keep an eternal perspective. We have lost a lot but God is still good. I have seen him do good out of the depths of tragedy already and I’m sure there is more to come.
I am so fortunate to have a brother like Buddy. We have had a great time together. From family time, to church, to watching the Eagles give the Patriots a run for their money, it has been a great visit. We have spent much of our time dreaming what God can do at Fellowship. We are poised for our greatest year ever…it’s easy to see.
