We had a great and productive day today as we continue to gear up for Christmas Eve. I wish you could see our team interact in our staff meetings. I am challenging them to take it up a notch as we pull out all of the stops for a great month! I want to challenge you as well to be praying for God to do something extraordinary during this series (LOST) and on our Christmas weekend services. Invite your friends! Ratchet up your boldness factor…you can do it!
I’m having a great time with my kids this week while Michelle is away. I was just thinking how stressful this kind of time used to be when they were younger. I am really proud of them. They are so “not-perfect” and I have to get after them like any other parent, but they are a lot of fun to be around. There is a lot of laughter in this house! A great friend, Jean, spoiled us with an awesome meal tonight. I think she thought we were living on Tombstone Pizza and cereal…
Thanks for praying for me yesterday as I spoke at a funeral. It was tough…a 45 year old husband/dad who leaves behind a wife and a two daughters (13 and 7). His death was a shock…no symptoms and very sudden. Rocky (a great name) was immensely popular. We had to delay the service over 2 hours so people could get through to pay their respects. Sometimes it seems to me that this kind of stuff comes in waves. This is going to be an incredibly difficult Christmas for lots of hurting people.
Tomorrow is my big study day for Sunday. I am seriously pumped about this weekend. You don’t want to miss it…God is up to something.
I got on some websites for some area churches tonight and was reminded at how different we are. We really are a church for people that don’t like church. I also was struck by how far God has brought us. Our web-site rocks! Our church is incredible! So exciting, vibrant, and full of energy…who wouldn’t love it? Remember, people can’t come to a church they don’t know exists! Let’s get the word out…pass out your invite cards…let’s get our posters up at area businesses!

Hey John,
Thanks for the opportunity to have lunch with yourself and few of your staff. I enjoyed picking your brain about some of things you are doing at Fellowship. You have a really sharp team (of course you already know that)! You guys are a great example of how church can and should be done in the North East! You guys rock!
I can't wait to check out your Christmas Eve service.
