The thing I love most about my Emmy is her heart. She loves her family, her friends, and is learning to love her God. As I push back today and reflect on who she is and where she is going I want to say thank you to some people who have made a lasting impact on Emily.
Michelle, first and foremost, deserves all the credit. The same things that make Emily special are the things that can make her difficult to manage. She knows how to push Mommy’s buttons let me tell you. Michelle has poured into her life like only a Godly Mother can. She has taught her to read, write, pray, and challenged her to excel. When I see Emily walking from far away I see her Mom. It’s fun to watch them “borrow” each other’s clothes. Michelle, you have made all the difference in my princess…thank you.
Allison has always set the pace. As long as I can remember Emmy has wanted to be her big sister! They really love each other and the almost 5 year gap between then diminishes more and more every day. They stay up late and talk (probably about the Jonas brothers) and they love to shop. The house shakes when they start to wrestle or chase each other through the house. Alli has really passed on a spiritual legacy to her sister. I see Emmy late at night reading her Bible and going through her Power Tool journal (Thanks Ryan). Alli, you are the best big sister I could ever imagine for Emily…thanks for setting the pace!
Kristi McInnes has been Emily’s pastor and mentor for the last 7 years. She has taught her through instruction and modeled the transition into married life and now motherhood. Kristi has impacted countless lives and Emily is one who will always look up to her. Kristi, I would be honored for Emily to grow up and be just like you!
Emmy is rich in friends. She has been blessed that way. But I think the richest and most biased man in the world today would be her Daddy. Emmy…you make my heart beat! I love you!

Happy Birthday Emily! Emily is a very special girl. She is such a great leader in the youth department. From leading the worship to making the students feel welcomed. This past weekend she made a friend for life with my daughter Brooke. Thanks for making a difference. We love you and have a great day!!
Happy Birthday Emily! I know that you don't know me yet, but I am Lauren Phillips mom (Marcy). I just wanted to also thank you for spending time with Lauren this past weekend. She told me all about basketball! I hope that you have an awesome day! I am looking forward to getting to know you as I start in the youth group next month!
Happy Birthday Emily! It was great spending time with you this past weekend and I look forward to getting to know you more. I had a lot of fun looking for scavenger items. I say next year we go for 50 items and maybe have the kids find out the dog's real name. After spending time with Emily this past weekend I am surprised to hear she is 12. With her maturity level, I would have guessed older. Enjoy your day Emily!

Thanks everyone! My Dad has bragged and bragged about me but He is the BEST in the world! I definatly am a "daddy's girl"! Both of my parents are constantly encouraing me, but most important to me they always love me. I think that thats one thing that I sometimes take for granite is the love that my parents give me. I can't imagine feeling like I have to be the best for my parents to tell me that they love me. My parents love me even when I get bad grades or loose in my soccer games or anything, they always love me and my sibs! I love you mommy and daddy!
em, i am so lucky to have you fora friend! i've had other friends, but have taught me the most about who i am and what a good friend is. i don't neccesarily think that a best friend is just another friend who you happen to have a few extra giggles with. i think there is so much more to it than that. i think a best friend is someone who you trust, who you can tell your feelings to and who knows who you are. you're my best friend! you've definitely showed i can trust you (there was that one incident in first grade... hmm...) haha u knew i had to throw that one out there! i am just amazingly lucky that i have a friend like you. we've had a few hard times (member our 2 month separation? wow...) but we always manage to make up one way or another. you're really different than so many THIRTEEN year olds that i know. in a good way. you are so smart and funny and pretty inside out and a great person! have a great year and i hope we stay friends!! <3
Happy Belated Birthday, Emmy. I have to tell you how special this young lady is to me. She connects with me even if I'm sitting in the front of church and she's sitting in the back. I feel her heart touch mine with compassion, love and a reaching out to me. Many times she doesn't say anything but, I'm praying for you. Many times she just stands next to me like a support beam, young and strong. She has wisdom beyond her years as she ministers to this hurting mom. Thank you, Emily. You're precious!
"Big" Emily - We hope you had an extra special birthday. We love you dearly and love to see how the Lord is growing you. You have helped this little Sareyka family in many different ways. From loving on Rachel since she was born, to spending the night at our home on Rachel's floor, to our little shopping trip's, sending me encouraging sweet emails during the last year, holding Austin during church so I could serve in KidVenture, to coming to visit Austin in the hospital on your 12th birthday...I could go on and on:) As a mother to have someone like you truly take time and love her children - you will not know what that does for Keith and myself. You are one of a kind and we are so thankful Rachel has a wonderful female role model like you to look up to and have in her life. We love you so much!!
The Sareyka's:)
