Sunday was a great wrap up to our “live different” series. Intentionality is such an important kingdom dynamic. Think of how reactive we are in life. We run around putting out fires as we tend to the urgent rather than focusing in on the important. What part of the week will you plan with Jesus in mind? Is he on your mind at all or is it a compartmentalized “Sunday kind of thing” for you. He wants to permeate all the aspects of our lives. Be intentional this week!
I loved our service yesterday. Jeff continues to deliver as he brings us into God’s presence. I wish he would quit holding back on “Glorious One” though, don’t you? The Lord’s Supper was great. I look forward to sharing it more on Sundays with you guys in 2008. Let me also congratulate the nineteen people we had get baptized. What a thrill to share in you going pubic with your faith in Jesus!
Last night might have been the best Super Bowl I remember watching. I have to admit for one three hour stretch I was a Giants fan. Maybe it was the whole “brother dynamic” of Payton and Eli – I’m a sucker for that one since I have a younger brother for a best friend – but I loved it. I am not a big fan of dynasties unless it is a Philadelphia dynasty…so I guess you could say I am not a fan of them at all since Philly has never had a dynasty in my lifetime let alone a championship in the last twenty five years.
My sister Kristin is home from East Asia and should be at my parent’s house by late tonight. She has an open ended ticket so she will be helping out for at least a couple of weeks. One of the blessings of my Dad’s cancer has been the unity that it has brought to an already close family. Thanks Kristin for making the long trip home – it will be a huge blessing for Mom and Dad.
I just heard that Michelle’s stepdad might have to have open heart surgery. YIKES! It seems like it comes in waves doesn’t it. He is an awesome guy – and one of the best cooks I know. Pray for Doc and Michelle’s Mother Kay. I will keep you posted.

John you rocked it yesterday! You took what most pastors have made a spiritual ritual and you totally made it personal and made it what it is supposed to be...worship. What a great day all around...so pumped to see so many people go public with their faith.
Hey John, I just wanted to share with you that it seems everywhere I go since Sunday's service people have been commenting on how awesome church was this week...from the baptism to the music to how cool communion was...Fellowship rocked this weekend - you were okay, too! Made me proud to be part of this church!
God is good! Thanks for the feedback from Sunday Ryan and Kathleen. I am glad that God used it to bless so many.
