On The Road

I am headed to Springfield, MO in the morning to give some much needed support to my parents. My Dad has a PET scan scheduled for Tuesday to check for cancer in one of his lungs and also to see if it is the cause of the pain he is presently experiencing. Positron emission tomography ( PET ) is a nuclear medicine medical imaging technique which produces a three-dimensional image or map of functional processes in the body…I looked it up…I am looking forward to seeing both my parents and just get to spend some time talking. I know my Dad is going through some tough pain and I’m not excited about seeing that to be honest with you. Please pray for my Dad as he goes in for his test.

Tomorrow is a travel day for me and then Tuesday we will go for his test. I hope to hear some kind of result by the end of the week. I know God has a plan for all of this and I am thankful the Michelle can hold down the home front and our great staff team can hold down the church front in my absence.

One of my very good friends Kevin Short is picking me up at the airport and taking me to dinner before I head over to my parents home. Kevin pastors Christ Community Church in Springfield and has been a great friend to me for 14 years. CCC just moved into their new building about 4 months ago, so I am going to get a VIP tour of that as well.

I watched American Gladiators with the kids tonight…so cheesy…but fun at the same time. Giants and the Cowboys next week…should be a good game.
